Salt – as per taste

Black pepper powder – ¼ tsp

Chaat masala – ½ tsp

Lemon juice – ½ tsp (optional)

Oil – for shallow fry / appam pan

Oil – 1 to 2 tsp

Mustard seeds (sarson) – ½ tsp

Curry leaves – 6 to 8

White sesame seeds (safed til) – 1 tsp

Dry red chili – 1 (optional, for spice & colour)

A pinch of asafoetida (hing) – optional, for aroma
