These Lentil Falafels are packed with flavour, protein and fibre ✨
PERI PERI LENTIL FALAFELS 🧆
🧆 Recipe :
1. Pressure-cook ½ cup masoor dal until it becomes mushy and super soft. Transfer it to a mixing bowl while still warm.
2. Add chopped 1 medium onion, 3–4 cloves garlic, a handful of coriander, salt, cumin powder, black pepper, coriander powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, paprika, regular chilli powder, and 2–3 tbsp roasted besan for binding. Mix everything well.
3. Grease your hands lightly with oil and shape the mixture into small falafels or patties.
4. For the peri peri oil, mix 3–4 tbsp olive oil with salt, peri peri seasoning, and a little chilli powder in a small bowl.
5. Air-fry the falafels at 200°C for 10 minutes. Take them out, brush them generously with the peri peri oil, and air-fry again at 200°C for another 10 minutes or until they turn crispy and fully cooked.
6. Serve hot with garlic yogurt, pita, and the fresh salad on the side.
7. You can also shape the falafels ahead of time and freeze them to cook later.
