#Sugiyan

Sugiyan is a traditional snack. It is eaten as an evening snack by the families when the children return from school or college. As grownups, many Keralites has nostalgic memories of enjoying a quality time with the family, eating hot Sugiyan as evening snack. The snack is a great favourite when families gather to celebrate festivals. Made of a mixture of flour, precooked beans, jaggery, grated coconut, sugar and cardamom, deep fried in boil, Sugiyan has a unique taste. It is a great snack to serve with coffee or tea to the visitors or family members. With a little bit of practice one can prepare Sugiyan easily and within the shortest possible time.

Ingredients

Maida – ½ kg
Mung beans – ½ kg (soaked 3 hrs)
Jaggery – ½ kg
Cardamom – 10 nos
Sugar – 1 tsp
Coconut – 1 no.
Cooking oil – to deep fry
Salt
Water
