SOURDOUGH RECIPE (Beginner-Friendly)
Ingredients:• 3½ cups all-purpose or bread flour• 1½ cups water (room temp)• 1 cup active sourdough starter (bubbly)• 1½ teaspoons salt

⭐ STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS (Plain English)
1️⃣ Mix the Dough
Add flour, water, starter, and salt to a bowl. Mix until a sticky, shaggy dough forms.(Dough sticking to your fingers is normal — it means you’re doing it right.)
2️⃣ Rest (Autolyse)
Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for 30 minutes. This helps gluten form naturally.
3️⃣ Stretch & Folds
Grab the dough from one side, stretch it up, fold it over.Rotate the bowl and do this 3–4 times. This strengthens the dough without kneading.
4️⃣ Bulk Fermentation
Let the dough rise until doubled, puffy, and bubbly (4–6 hours depending on temperature). It should jiggle like a marshmallow when you shake the bowl.
5️⃣ Pre-Shape
Turn dough onto the counter and gently form a loose ball. Rest for 10–15 minutes.
6️⃣ Final Shape
Tighten the dough by pulling it toward you to build surface tension. You want a smooth, round, taut dough ball.
7️⃣ Proof
Place dough into a floured bowl/banneton. Cover and proof until a gentle poke springs back slowly.
8️⃣ Score & Bake
Preheat oven + Dutch oven to 450°FScore the top (simple line is perfect).Bake 20 minutes covered + 20–25 minutes uncovered until deep golden and hollow-sounding.
9️⃣ Slice, Enjoy & Feel Proud
You made real sourdough with cups only — no scale required.
