Healthy homemade pitas with my teen son and hobby
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 cup fine semolina flour
1cup whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon yeast +1/4 lukewarm water
1 cup water
Steps:
1. Dissolved yeast in lukewarm water and let fermented for 5 minutes
2. In a big bowl combined add ingredients except water
3. Now add yeast mixture and gradually add water to flour. Mix to form a soft dough
4. Knead for 6 to 8 minutes…flour surface ad need when kneading. Let it rest for 1 hour or until double in size.
5. Make 8 or 9 equal pieces, shaped, and rolled out into small circles.
6. Let it rest for another 30 minutes before begin to cook as showed it video.
7. Enjoy
P.S. …the most difficult in making pita is the waiting time but nothing beats making your own fresh delicious homemade pita
Also… you can used all-purpose flour if u don’t have a combination…it all up to your preference.
