A very healthy and super delicious breakfast from tamil nadu is idly. Morning idli with sambar or chutney makes the breakfast a super complete nutritious food which is easy to digest as it is a fermented food.
Ingredients
Idly rice 4 cup
Urud da 1 cup
Methi seeds 1 tblsp
Method
Wash and soak rice and urud dal separately. Methi along with urud dal. Soak for 2 to 6 hrs. Grind dal to fine and smooth batter. Then grind rice to smooth batter and mix to urud dal along with salt and ferment overnight.
Beat the batter and pour into idli plate and steam for 10 min or until its cooked. Serve hot hot with your favorite side dish starting from simple podi chutney sambar rasam or mutton gravy chicken gravy fish gravies..etc
