🌾 Soft & Fluffy Oats Bread (Yeast-Raised)
Makes: 1 loaf (super soft)Texture: pillowy, airy, bendable slices, not dense.
⭐ Ingredients
* 1 cup rolled oats (instant is fine)
* 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour OR 1 ½ cups AP flour + 1 cup whole wheat (softer)*
* 1 cup warm milk (or warm oat milk)
* ¼ cup warm water
* 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
* 3 tbsp honey or sugar
* 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
* 1 tsp salt
⭐ Instructions (for maximum fluffiness)
1️⃣ Bloom the yeast
In a bowl mix:
* warm water
* 1 tbsp honey
* yeast
Let it foam for 5–10 minutes.
2️⃣ Prepare oat mixture
Pour warm milk over the oats.Let it soak 5 minutes (makes bread super soft).
3️⃣ Make the dough
In a large bowl:
* Add flour + salt
* Add yeast mixture + oat mixture + oil
* Mix to form a soft dough.
It should feel slightly sticky—this is what gives softness.
4️⃣ Knead
Knead 8–10 minutes until elastic and smooth.
5️⃣ First rise
Cover and rest for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
6️⃣ Shape
Deflate, roll into a log, place in a greased loaf pan.
7️⃣ Second rise
Let rise 30–45 minutes until the dough reaches the top of the pan.
8️⃣ Bake
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 30–35 minutes.Brush with butter after baking to keep the crust soft.
9️⃣ Cool completely
This keeps the inside fluffy, not gummy.
