Soft Ragi Balls & Bottle Gourd Chutney | Ragi Mudde with a Twist | Millet Recipe | Healthy Breakfast



Ragi Mudde is a traditional South Indian millet dish, and today I’m sharing it with a healthy twist and serving it with a delicious lauki ki chutney (bottle gourd chutney) for a complete, balanced meal.

This version of ragi mudde is soft, non-sticky, and easy to eat, making it perfect for beginners, kids, and elders. Paired with lauki chutney, which is light, cooling, and digestion-friendly, this meal becomes ideal for weight loss, diabetes, and everyday healthy eating.

INGREDIENTS:
Ghee/ Oil – 1 tbsp
Cumin Seeds – 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tbsp
Chana Dal – 1 tbsp
Urad Dal – 1 tbsp
Curry Leaves – 5-6
Chopped Onion – 1/2 cup
Chopped Green Chillies – 2-3
Grated Ginger – 1/2 tbsp
Finely Chopped Spinach – 1/2 cup
Finely Chopped Methi Leaves – 1/4 cup
Grated Carrot – 1/4 cup
Water – 2 cups
Salt – 1 tbsp
Crushed pepper – 1 tbsp
Ragi Flour – 1 cup
Water – 2 tbsp
Ragi Flour – 2 tbsp

Lauki Ki Chutney :
Bottle Gourd – 1 cup
Ghee/ Oil – 1 tbsp
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tbsp
Chana Dal – 1 tbsp
Asafoetida – a pinch
Onion – 1/4 cup
Garlic – 3 cloves
Ginger – 1/2 inch
Green Chillies – 1
Curry Leaves – 8-10
Salt – 1 tbsp
Water – 1/4 cup
Kashmiri Red Chillies – 1
Tamarind – small pc
Roasted Chana/ Daalia – 1/4 cup
Fresh Coconut – 1/4 cup
Fresh Coriander – a handful
Water – as required

For Tadka :
Oil – 1 tbsp
Urad Dal – 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds – 1 tbsp
Asafoetida – a pinch
Curry Leaves – 5-6
Dry Red chilli – 1
