Today, we’re making Chicken Cafreal (diet version) using minimal spices, fresh coriander, green chillies, and desi ghee — so you can enjoy full plate tasty food and still lose weight.

🧾 Ingredients
For Green Cafreal Paste:
– Jeera (Cumin Seeds) – 1 tsp
– Coriander Seeds – 1 tsp
– Black Pepper – 1 tsp
– Garlic – 4–5 cloves
– Ginger – 1 inch
– Cloves – 3–4
– Cinnamon – 1 inch
– Fresh Coriander Leaves – 100–150 g (for 1 kg chicken)
– Green Chillies – 6–7 (adjust spice level)
– Coconut Vinegar / Regular Vinegar – as required
– Salt – to taste
– Haldi (Turmeric) – ½ tsp
– Water – little, for grinding
For Chicken Cafreal:
– Boneless Chicken – 1 kg
– Black Pepper Powder – to taste
– Desi Ghee – for cooking
– Onion – julienne cut
– Capsicum (Shimla Mirch) – julienne cut
👩🍳 Step-by-Step Recipe
1️⃣ Prepare the Cafreal Green Paste
– Add all whole spices, garlic, ginger, coriander leaves, green chillies, vinegar, salt, turmeric, and little water to a mixer.
– Grind into a thick green paste.
2️⃣ Marinate the Chicken
– Add salt and black pepper powder to chicken.
– Apply the green paste generously.
– Massage well and marinate for 30 minutes (minimum).
3️⃣ Fry the Chicken (80% Cook)
– Heat desi ghee in a cast iron pan.
– Fry marinated chicken until 80% cooked.
– Remove and keep aside.
4️⃣ Prepare the Gravy
– In the same pan, add little more ghee.
– Add julienne onions → fry lightly.
– Add capsicum → fry for just 1 minute (don’t brown).
– Add remaining green paste and sauté.
5️⃣ Final Cooking
– Add the fried chicken back to the pan.
– Mix well, cover, and cook for 7–8 minutes.
– Add vinegar at the end and cook covered for 5 more minutes.
6️⃣ Serve Hot
– Aromatic, juicy, Goan-style Chicken Cafreal for Weight Loss is ready!
