Milk – 2 cups (500 ml)
Sugar – 2 cups (400 g)
Desi ghee – ¾ cup (180 ml)
Dry Fruits
Cashews – 20–25
Almonds – 20–25
Raisins – 2 tbsp
Pistachios – 1 tbsp
Chironji (charoli) – 2 tbsp
Dry coconut (grated) – 100 g (1 cup)
Flavoring
Green cardamom powder – 1 tsp
Kewra water – 2 tsp
Saffron strands – 20–25 (optional)
Optional (for richer taste)
Khoya (mawa) – 100–125 g
(or milk powder / can be skipped)
Tips
Patience while roasting = perfect halwai taste
Slightly coarse dal gives better texture
