Today I’m sharing a cozy and nourishing bowl of Creamy Finnish Salmon Soup (Lohikeitto) — a traditional dish from Finland that’s simple, wholesome, and perfect for busy moms who want clean, comforting meals for their families.
This easy one-pot salmon soup is made with fresh salmon, potatoes, carrots, celery, garlic, onion, cream, and simple seasonings. It’s rich, creamy, and packed with nutrients — perfect for weeknight dinners!

🥣 Ingredients:
Salmon (cut into cubes)
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic (chopped)
1 onion (chopped)
1 celery stalk (chopped)
2 potatoes (cubed)
1 carrot (chopped)
Salt & pepper to taste
Water (enough to cover vegetables)
½–1 cup cream
👩‍🍳 Instructions:
Heat oil and butter in a pan over medium heat.
Add garlic, onion, celery, potatoes, and carrots.
Season with salt and pepper and sauté for a few minutes.
Add water to cover the vegetables and bring to a boil.
Once boiling, add the salmon pieces.
Pour in the cream and gently stir.
Cover with a lid and let simmer until salmon is cooked through and vegetables are tender.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Optional: Garnish with fresh dill for an authentic Nordic touch.
