Basic Strata Recipe
Ingredients
6 eggs
2 cups milk (480 mL; whole, 2%, or plant-based)
1/2 loaf or 225-250 g stale bread, torn or cut into cubes (lightly toasted if not stale)
1/2-1 cup cheese shredded, goat cheese, oro feta)
1 teaspoon salt ar mix-ins (choose any combination) ACH veggies: spinach, mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, onions, tomatoes, broccoli proteins: cooked sausage, ham, bacon, shredded chicken, tofu
flavors/extras: pesto, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, fresh herbs (basil, parsley, chives), sun-dried tomatoes, harissa
optional extras: caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, olives, artichoke hearts, cooked potatoes, a sprinkle of Parmesan, smoked paprika

Instructions
place bread cubes in a large bowl in a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and any flavor mix-ins
pour custard over bread and toss gently to coat
grease an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking dish. transfer bread mixture into dish, pressing lightly to help soak. sprinkle remaining cheese and mix-ins on top
cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight preheat oven to 350 F (175 C). bake cover 40 minutes, then uncovered for 10-15 minutes until custard is set and top is golden brown. let rest 5-10 minutes before slicing #mediterraneandiet #easybreakfast #healthybreakfastideas #highproteinmeals #highfiber
