Ingredients
2 cups besan
Salt to taste
2 tsp sugar
1 medium beetroot
¾ to 1 cup water (for grinding beetroot)
1 tsp eno / baking soda
1 tbsp lemon juice
Beetroot Grinding-
Chop 1 medium beetroot.
Grind it with ¾ cup water first.
If needed, add 2–3 tbsp more water while grinding.
You should get about 1 to 1¼ cup beetroot puree.
Batter
Mix the beetroot puree with 2 cups besan, salt, and sugar.
The batter should be medium thick (like idli batter).
If the batter feels thick, add 1–2 tbsp water.
Before Steaming-
Add 1 tbsp lemon juice and 1 tsp eno / baking soda.
Mix gently and pour immediately into a greased plate.
Steam for 15–20 minutes.
