Amul recently launched a whole range of protein products, but how do you know if they’re actually good for you? 🤔💪

Most brands slap the word protein on a label, but that doesn’t mean it’s a healthy choice. Here’s the simple 3-step framework I use to check whether a protein product is worth it:

✅ Calories from Protein – How many calories are getting from protein as a % total calories from the product. The higher the number, the better. Because you are consuming it for its protein content. Anything below 50% is BAD because other macros dominate.

✅ Carbs to Protein Ratio – Carbs % to Protein. A high-protein product shouldn’t be loaded with carbs. Ideally, protein should be the dominant macronutrient. Anything above 0.75 is BAD. Means, you are eating more carbs, not protein.

✅ Price per Gram of Protein – Protein is an investment in your health, but you shouldn’t be overpaying. Divide the price by the total grams of protein per serving to see if you’re getting good value. Some products charge premium prices while giving very little protein.

❤️Love these:

1. Amul Whey Bars➡️ 78%/0.14/Rs 3
2. Amul Protein Paneer ➡️ 57%/0.15/Rs 1.5
3. Amul Protein Milk ➡️ 62.22%/0.57/2.83
4. Amul Lassi/Buttermilk ➡️ 55.56%/0.53/Rs 1.67

😡Hate these:

1. Amul Milk Shake ➡️ 30%/2.5/Rs 4
2. Amul Protein Dahi ➡️ 37%/0.4/Rs 2.8
3. Amul Protein Shake ➡️ 58%/0.95/Rs 2.5 (Better to Have Amul Butter Milk)
4. Amul Lassi ➡️ 56.07%/0.8/Rs 1.67

My 2 cents to all protein companies: if you are a serious protein player show the AA profile. Without AA, it’s incomplete.
