Bajra roti / Bajre ki roti/ Bhakri is a traditional North Indian dish especially eaten during winter season. Bajra / Pearl Millet is highly nutritious. Apart from having low glycemic Index it is loaded with vitamins & minerals. Not only that it also has an adequate amount of protein. Hence it is considered healthy especially if you want to lose weight.
Ingredients to make Bajre ki roti / Pearl Millet flat bread:-( serving 2-3 people)
2 small cup Bajre ka aatta ( Pearl Millet flour)
Salt to taste
water as required
Method to make bajra roti :-
Take 2 small cup bajra flour in a large utensil mix salt in it as per taste.
Divide the flour into such a way that you make just about 2-3 roti with one part
Start kneading one part by adding water gradually
Knead the dough nicely by pressing it with your palm.
The dough should be semi soft
Make medium size balls. Dust them with flour and roll them into flat circles either using hands or on a flat surface
Meanwhile heat a tava or a pan. Once the tava is hot. Gently place the roti on it.
Once it is slightly cook from one side flip and cook from other side. As brown spots starts to appear on roti
Remove it from the tava a cook directly on flames.
Apply ghee or butter on top of your roti.
Serve them warm with raita, saag, Sabzi of your choice.
