Udupi-style Tambuli—my mom’s recipe to beat the heat, light, cooling & soul-soothing 🥥✨
✨ Ingredients (2 servings):
• ½ litre curd
• 2 tsp methi (fenugreek) seeds
• 10 garlic cloves
• 3–4 dried red chillies
• ½ cup grated coconut
• Water (as needed)
For seasoning:
• 1 tsp coconut oil
• 1 tsp mustard seeds
• 1 tsp urad dal
• Few curry leaves
👩🍳 Method:
• Lightly roast methi, garlic, red chillies & coconut
• Grind into a smooth paste
• Add the paste to curd & mix well
• Adjust consistency with water
• Heat coconut oil, add mustard seeds & urad dal
• Let it splutter, add curry leaves
• Pour seasoning over tambuli & mix
