Rich in fiber and antioxidants, these Chocolate-Cherry Heart Smart Cookies are sure to impress! Try out this low-calorie cookie recipe from Sparrow Healthy Bites. #TastyTuesday

Ingredients:
• 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
• 1½ c old-fashioned rolled oats
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• ½ tsp. salt
• 6 tbsp. unsalted butter
• ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
• 1 cup dried cherries
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• 1 large egg
• 3 oz. bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
• Cooking spray

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Combine dry ingredients in large bowl (flours, oats, baking soda & salt). Stir with a whisk.
3. Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. Remove; add brown sugar, vanilla & egg to melted butter. Stir until smooth.
4. Add sugar mixture to flour mixture; mix thoroughly by hand or beat with mixer at medium speed until well blended.
5. Add cherries and fold in chocolate.
6. Drop tablespoon-sized dough onto baking sheet coated with cooking spray or lined with parchment paper.
7. Bake for 12 minutes.
8. Cool on pan 3 minutes or until firm.
9. Remove cookies from pan; cool on wire rack.

Prep time: 30-40 minutes
Makes 30 cookies
