Ingredients
Yam peeled and cut into pieces 150 gms
5 shallots
25 gms of garlic
2 Kashmiri chillies
1 Tomato cut into pieces
1 Spoon of parsley
1 Onion cut into pieces
1 cup of rice
Two and a half cups of water
2 Spoons of fennel powder
A quarter spoon of turmeric powder
Salt to taste
10 ml of oil
300 ml of water
Preparation
Boil two and a half cups of water. Put in salt and 5 ml of oil and mix. Put in washed and soaked rice and cook for 15 minutes. In another pan take 5 ml of oil. Put in the shallots and the garlic and saute till the shallots lose their pink color. Add the onion pieces and saute till golden brown.Add 2 spoons of fennel powder,a quarter spoon of turmeric powder and salt and saute and mix. Add the yam pieces and saute and mix for 5 minutes. Put in the Kashmiri chillies and saute .Pour in 300 ml of water and mix well. Put in the tomato pieces and let the mixture cook for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes add in the rice little by little and mix and saute well. Add parsley on top and mix. Take off the flame and serve
