Spicy Thai vermicelli salad “Yum Woon Sen – ยําวุ้นเส้น” and spicy instant noodle salad “Yum Mama – ยํามาม่า” are healthy Thai street food that everyone loves. The combined savory, sweet, and sour tastes of the Thai salad are so addicting until you will have to ask for a second round. “Yum,” which means spicy salad, can be found everywhere in Bangkok or across Thailand. Each Thai street chef has his or her own secret recipes. Some chefs may add pickled fish to give a unique savory touch to the dish.
Sister Ae “Pii Ae – พี่เอ๋” is our chef and the owner of the yum vendor. She has been selling yum for more than 6 years. Her secret tip is to use the freshest seafood to create the healthy Thai salad. Her street food vendor is located in the Nambanyat community. She loves what he does but has been hit hard by COVID-19 in 2021. I hope that everyone can support her local business during this difficult time.
