Hummus is a rich and creamy #MiddleEasternDip which is usually served with Pita Bread. This #HummusDip is made of chickpea, olive oil, white sesame seeds, and garlic. You can now make this #Hummus with Cookd’s simple recipe and serve it hot. Do try this recipe and share your feedback with us.

Hummus Recipe:
Chickpea/Chana – 1 Cup
Water – 2 Cups
Salt
Tahini:
White Sesame Seeds – ¼ Cup
Olive Oil – 3 tbsp
Other Ingredients:
Garlic – 5 Cloves
Lemon Juice – 2 tbsp
Tahini – 2 tbsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Olive Oil – 5 tbsp
Ice Cubes – 5 nos
Water – 2 tbsp
Garnish:
Olive Oil – As Needed
Paprika Powder – As Needed
Cooking Instructions:
1. Soak the chickpeas in water overnight.
2. Drain the water and add it to a pressure cooker along with 2 cups of water.
3. Pressure cook for 6 whistles on high flame. Allow the steam to release.
4. It should mash easily when pressed. Allow it to cool slightly.
Tahini:
1. Toast the white sesame seeds in a pan on low heat until the colour starts to change.
2. Grind it in a mixer.
3. Add olive oil and grind again until smooth.
Grinding the Hummus:
1. Add the boiled chickpeas, garlic, lemon juice, tahini, salt, olive oil, and ice cubes to a mixer/food processor and blend.
2. Add water gradually as required. Blend until smooth.
3. Serve in a plate/bowl and garnish with olive oil and paprika powder.
Cooking Tips:
1. Optionally, you can remove the skins off the chickpeas to make it extra smooth and creamy.
