well hello friends and welcome back to
my channel I’m Renee and I thought I’d
bring you
along um I’m doing several things I am
setting up this refrigerator for
John some healthy stuff is going to go
in this fridge so that he can grab
something
healthy
and not be you know inclined to grab
something quick and full of sugar okay
so we’re going to set this fridge up for
him right here I’ve got a bunch of um
pistachio nuts he loves those and those
are very healthy for you and those ones
are
unsalted and then in this thing here in
this bag I’ve got unsalted nuts and I’ve
got everything in here M he’s going to
like
these but he has to take watch the salt
because he’s already on a high blood
pressure pill and who knows it might be
from his diabetes I don’t know that
might you know level off once we
get his diabetes under
control okay
so those are
good I’m going to store these in the
freezer because don’t go rancid on your
sh you always want to store your nuts in
the
freezer come a lot the air out of
them I got a resalable bag but I’m still
going to put them in a Ziploc
bag why don’t why this isn’t
ceiling oh
there we
go okay I’m going to go put these in the
freezer okay I’m going to toss this
out this is going to be a learning
experience for me I’ve never had to deal
with anybody with
diabetes but we got to keep them
healthy and it doesn’t hurt me either
you know so these are going to go right
back
here on that side of the
fridge I got his
cheese his cheese is over
here and I’ll show you the fridge how I
got it set
up it’s healthy looking
the salad I’m going to wait because I’m
going to make a nice salad I’ve got a
brick of this beautiful I call this
government cheese this is always given
to me now we just had neighbors move in
and they’re a young
couple and they got three young boys and
you know they eat like government meals
if they’re boys so I think I’m going to
send this and the boys come over here
all the time they they say they love us
they think it’s fun over here with our
grandchildren and the things we do and
they even came over this weekend and
they ate with everybody and uh they had
a fun time so I think I’m going to send
this over there and she can feed her
boys she’ll like that that’s a 2 and2 PB
brick of
cheese who who wouldn’t like that you
know so I’m going to send it to them
we’re going to put this hter

sausage I know one of them is open cuz
they were eating it I don’t

know how they open ah there’s a hole
right there all
right we’re going to put
these in Ziploc
bags this
one can stay in this package but this
one that’s been
opened little mousey got in there
that’s going to go in the
back okay

we want them M to lay down there we
go all the air out of
here that way when he wakes up in the
middle of the night he’s going to have a
healthy snack he’s been ravenous I’m
telling you and
uh I’m sure it’s from his diabetes
and before his insulin before he started
taking that he was thirsty he was so
thirsty oh my goodness the he never
drank Pepsi but he would drink over a
gallon of water a day and he his skin
was looking he looked like he was 90
years old his eyes were sunk in his head
and he’d lost 35 lounds and this was
over a course of a few months and I’m
I’m watching my husband wither away and
all I keep hearing from the doctor is
it’s all right it’s a healthy weight
it’s a healthy weight you know it’s he
was almost 200 lb so and he’s 5
fo8 so he
um I didn’t think too much of it and uh
he got this thing on his tongue it was
like almost like a hairy tongue they
would they would call it hairy tongue
it’s just a bacteria buildup on your
tongue
and uh he says it just makes everything
taste terrible and it feels like it’s
dry and cracked and brittle I said you
know I’m just going to take it to the
doctor I let’s just go to the doctor now
my husband’s not one to not listen to me
because when I um I say it’s time to go
to the doctor he’ll
go and he also will listen and do his
meds very well too so that I I took him
in and he did a bunch of blood work on
him well the next day they called they
said we need to see him like
ASAP and that’s when he told us um we
think he’s we we found the problem he’s
he’s diabetic you know a blood sugar of
802 just isn’t normal and uh
so they started them on his insulin and
within a few days he was like he started
getting hungry and he said he would gain
back some of that weight quite a bit of
that weight probably his eyes now aren’t
sunk in his head his his luster is back
his color is back he’s you know he’s
he’s getting back to normal so we got to
keep him that way because he’s a hoot
let me get a pan because I always keep
hardboiled eggs and I’m down to just a
few in here so I’m going to boil up some
more
eggs because he likes eggs and we all
know eggs are good for protein so he can
just eat them at night
too okay now with these
ones I’m just going to go ahead and drop
these in here even though the water is
not boiling oh these are already hard
boiled these ones are want in
there did you get my
bacon four pieces oh good
beautiful I’m going to boil up these
eggs for you
they’re with
me we got the little show chickens this
is an itty bitty egg but this is perfect
for one person you know it’s just a
small
egg and uh we got a couple of little we
call them show girls and they lay these
little eggs well who wants these little
eggs they want the mammoth ones that we
got so we hard boil these and we keep
these in the fridge we set that back up
where the eggs go and we keep these in
the
refrigerator for our salads and whatnots
well this is something that he can just
grab and
go so those are going
on there we
go okay I can put these in the fridge
for
now okay
bacon I got bacon because I’m going to
cook up that cabbage with some onion and
bacon and Mr waya doesn’t eat it but I
love it so that’s what we’re going to
cook
okay so I am going
to I’m going to peel this outer layer of
leaves off this
okay can you hand me that board on the
very
bottom we’re going to cut this all
up I’m going to use one of my onions
too and we’re going to make some
wonderful fried cabbage with bacon I am
going SI Larry for a minut and he won’t
eat it will you yuck
yuck I love it you go sit with Larry
you’re
fine I’m going to cut this up
okay we’re going to get
this cut up nice and small I got four
nice pieces from my
butcher they got the best bacon yes it’s
pricey but I don’t buy very much at a
time
so this is
wonderful I need to sharpen my knife
friends
okay all right we’re going to throw this
right in our fry
pan okay so now that we got that
going I don’t want that screaming cuz
that’s a power burner we’re going to cut
this bad boy up

friends this is nice
get all this in here cuz it will cook
down it’s going to probably well more
than fill this pan but it will cook down
it will be

wonderful so there we
go few more
pieces now I’m also going to do some
pepper nobody eats this but me so I can
make it just the way I want it lots of
pepper I love it I love it when he makes
the peppered bacon cuz when you make
your um fried cabbage with that peppered
bacon oh is it fantastic now I got to
cut up a real an onion real
quick let me get some salt in
here okay now I got this onion in
here these need to be used up
I think it’s okay yes it’s still okay it
was getting a little soft on
me so I want to get them used
up
okay help me
okay that’s it that’s a rough chop we’re
going to get this put in here look how
beautiful and our our eggs are boiling
so that’s
good you know what I think I’m going to
do friends I’m going to get my big daddy
pan I’m not messing and I’m not fighting
with that thing
here’s the
biging we’re going to use this
one I’m going to set it right there and
I’m going to dump all this right

in look at that this would fit this and
some looks just fine
okay that’s a heavy
booger and look at that now that’ll be
nice to mix
up we’ll put these onions all in here oh
I love onions absolutely this is going
on the stove and there we go
friends we can mix this up
beautifully look at that
and I don’t know about you guys but I
love fried
cabbage
okay that’s just going to sit there and
cook for a little B cook down I’m going
to clean up this little bit of mess I
got and give it all to the
chickens okay friends this is doing
beautifully in here
that’ll fry down
wonderful okay so we got that that’s
doing really
good okay so here we go I’ve got eggs
that I started to do EG deviled eggs
this weekend when I had we had a big
cookout okay I got all these left and
all we’re going to do with these is
we’re just going to turn these into some
beautiful egg salad and he can have them
can have the egg salad he can have it
with some uh dipped in some
vegetable with some vegetables or he can
have it with some lettuce
or he can have it with a low carb wrap
that I’m going to get I don’t have any
right now but I will find some I’m sure
Meer has them so we’re just going to go
ahead and cut up this egg salad good
oldfashioned egg salad like Grandma used
to make
just cut it in little
chunks these are my whites that I had
left
over from when I did the deviled
eggs I didn’t want to throw them out
they cracked so they weren’t going to be
pretty for a doubled egg but they’re
definitely you know good for
salad
okay now I got quite a few here so all
I’m going to
do is I’m just going to cut them in
quarters and I’m just going to chop them
up in
here that look
wonderful
okay just give them the L chop
now you know what works well if you like
yours um cut a little a little further
down you know cut a little
smaller a pastry blender I’ll show
you where is it at where is it right
here for those of you who don’t know
this is a pastry blender and this works
wonderful for chopping those eggs up in
fact I’ll show you but let me give this
another mix I don’t want them to
burn I do put a little bit of water in
there and that helps to steam it as well
and then it won’t burn and it’s a nice
trick with cast
iron
perfect beautiful okay I’ll show you
we’ll put these in here and we’ll just
chop these right up with this I’ll show
you how easy this
is
there see how quick that was
probably a lot quicker than chopping
them but it just makes them a little bit
smaller and that’s
it take a look
beautiful okay
now I know he can tolerate Red Onion so
I’m going to put just a little bit of
red onion in there
I’ll just do
half give that to the
chickens all right we’ll cut this real
small in fact I use my smaller knife so
I get it real
small
okay I’m going to turn
them off all right here we go we’re
going to do little bitty pieces just a
little
perfect now I’m going to do in my celery
I already washed it
I’m going to cut this one more
time I want real little
pieces
okay just small
that’s almost smaller than the
onions okay there we go we’ve got our
onions and a little bit of celery in
there gives it a little bit of
crunch okay now I am going to
use mayo and I’m going to put just a
itty bitty bit
just a little
bit of Dean mustard maybe a
teaspoon I’ll put these
away all
right we’ll get this mixed
up and this will turn out really good
beautiful I probably should put a little
little bit of salt and pepper in
there just a little
bit maybe a little bit
more just a smidgen of salt all right
that should be
good we’ll fix that refrigerator up so
there’s no reason for him to run in buy
any sweets he’ll have everything at his
fingertips all right we’re going to give
that a
taste now I want a piece of onion in
there
too
mhm
perfect doesn’t need anything else all
right I’m going to put the lid on this
and this is going in the fridge let me
open this back up because look at here
friends I had this was from my devil day
EGS that I did this uh uh Saturday night
and I still got this left over and this
is perfectly fine so it’s going in
here and it’s okay it’s got a little p
uh P parsley in
there and I don’t want to throw that out
because it’s perfectly good and it’ll be
perfect for
the the sandwich
sprad going get that mixed right in
there
the eggs were left over from the deviled
eggs and uh so was the filling
perfect looks CU I was going to make it
a little bit
creamier but that’s all right that’s
wonderful now we can put it in the
fridge okay friends that’s doing
wonderful my cabbage these
onions I need to get these cut up and in
the
freezer they’re getting a little soft on
me so we’re going to get these cut up
put in a Ziploc bag and then I’m oh for
heaven’s sakes I’m going to make our
salad I’m not going to put the the I’m
not going to put these onions in the
salad I’m going to make the salad with
the red onions cuz that’s what John can
he can handle those red onions pretty
good what’s the matter can Larry have
that black of cheese
absolutely he’ll use it won’t he yeah
here
am he likes that huh good he’ll use it
all right tell him I said I’m sorry
again for his loss
okay so we’ll put these all in there our
neighbor lost his nephew
and I told him I said just let me know
what I can do anything I’ll I’ll help
cook for the funeral whatever but he was
only in his mid 20s I feel so sorry for
his sister my heart goes out to that
family I am just slicing these because I
don’t know what I’m going to use them
for so if I keep them sliced I could
still chop them if I want or I can use
them sliced but that’s what we’re going
to do we’re just going to slice these
real fast get them in this Ziploc
bag and get them in the
freezer
Beau oh I got one more to do what’s
wrong with
me well maybe
not oh I think this one’s good be

okay I think not yeah no I guess that
one is too far gone I’m not messing with
that if I have to cut out more than
what’s good I don’t need to use it okay
well we can put these in the
freezer cuz this one was still
good and my neighbor I got a bunch of
onions down there from uh The Flash
Foods
I had two huge boxes I bought nine boxes
of flash food for $5 a box
okay I did let me stir this up I
did
um the peppers and the
potatoes I gave I I used the peppers I
cut them up cuz I Ed those for our
pizzas the potatoes I had so many of
them I used a lot of the potatoes for my
pot po wedges this weekend that I cooked
up for people um but onions I got a lot
of the onions left over and I had
two big huge boxes of onions I mean they
were just mounded so I did sell them I
mean they got like three boxes worth for
for two boxes so I sold them for $10 and
it it helped recoup some of my stuff and
uh but that was wonderful okay we’re
going to make a salad okay we got those
onions we’re going to make a salad this
I’ve got to wash this so let me get all
this stuff washed up and then I’ll be
back and we’ll put this beautiful salad
together look at I got Roma hearts of
Roma wonderful stuff I’ll probably use
three of them because then I got three
left and I’m going to put the three that
I got left in the fridge
I got tomatoes out of that flash food
that I just got

too I got carrots I know I got these
Peppers these beautiful peppers I might
use a couple red ones but I need to use
this one up because it’s getting pretty
rough
looking and then I got these beautiful
tomatoes now I’m making Mr waya a burger
tonight he’s not going to to have a bun
with it he’s going to have lettuce and
tomato let’s see what I got here we’re
going to this salad we eat all week long
so and I don’t put egg in
it because I just keep the eggs and I’ll
peel them as we use them I think this is
a green pepper yep and we’re going to
use this
one get all those seeds out of
there he’s already washed up this one’s
already washed up everything’s washed up
except
for my celery cuz I don’t want that wet
inside there
and my
Roma
so I’m going to put
that right in
here I’m going to cut these in half
these are going in the tomatoes are
washed everything else is washed even at
cucumber so this is all I got to wash
I’ll be right back and we’ll put a
gorgeous salad
together this is done good enough for me
because I never heat anything up in a
microwave I always will put it in the
oven or on the stove top and this way if
I heat it up on a stove top it’ll finish
cooking that little
bit so I’m just going to turn this off
and we’re going to let this cool right
here and that is
wonderful and we’ll work on our
salad and you know what friends I still
haven’t gotten a salad spinner I need to
get one I keep
forgetting all right this is good so
we’re just going to cut this
up we’re going to put
this in my dish right here I got a nice
big dish for it right
there
okay the chickens love this
stuff you know what is good with this is
when you cut this in half this Romain
let us Grill it on the grill oh my
goodness put a little greek seasoning on
it oh
wonderful okay I got one left
here that piece don’t look
healthy okay
beautiful so we got all
that okay now I’ve got this
little only one cucumber it’s the only
thing I got we’re just going to cut it
up like
so beautiful put that in there I’ve got
this
pepper perfect we’re going to put him in
there
I got this green
pepper we’re just going to dice him
up okay
we’ll give it a big
mix
um
okay same thing with
this just give it a rough
chop beautiful
and this will last
us probably a good 4 days we go through
a lot of sale we eat salad every
meal and sometimes I just eat salad for
a snack cuz you just want something
crunchy
and salad’s nice and crunchy
now this
one I’m just going to
leave like so and I’m going to take this
off
here because I’m going to put
these right in here for a quick handy
snack okay
let’s see I got my
celery put those in
there these will have to be cut in
half nice little snack of those
Whole Foods is a wonderful
thing and you
know when you’re battling something like
my husband just started it’s like
lifechanging you have to change your
whole diet and
everything you can’t just grab whatever
you want a sandwich on the run you have
to sit down and have a a good meal and
we got to take care of
ourselves bunnies are getting that one I
got a few carrots I can put in here too
and then the rest I’m going to put in a
little goodie goodie
bucket okay I saved that bag but I don’t
save this
and these are all
good I’m going to put these right down
here because you know he does
like um veggies with a little ranch
dressing he likes um the French the
creamy French dressing which has like
seven gram of sugar and two
tablespoons where Ranch has one gram and
I said you know what you’re going to be
switching to Ranch at least you can have
some dressing you know at least you
don’t have to eat your your vegetables
dry you can have some dressing on
there so that’s a good thing
and we’ll give this salad a good old
mixing
up okay now with these
Tomatoes I do not
like some of them aren’t in the greatest
shape so we’re going to go through
them and the chickens will get a few of
these some of them are
good the ones that are good
we’re going to stick in this dish right
here cuz they’ve all been
washed and that’s
good I don’t put them in the salad
because these will go bad before our our
fresh salad and I don’t want them to
ruin or destroy my entire salad so we
got
that
okay we’ve got those
we are going
to set these right over here I’ll put
that away in a minute I want to get some
of those cleaned up and put in here
because it’s nice to just grab
them plus the tomatoes let’s do these
Tomatoes first these tomatoes need to
get used up I need to sharpen my
knife I also got a nice tomato
knife so let’s see here
these tomato tomato knives are very
sharp now I’m going to get rid of that
top cuz that’s just a little too
mushy okay so we’re going to put that
tomato right there and we’re also going
to do this yellow
one I hate it when those never come
off give that to the chickens and we’re
just going to slice this one up this
will be nice to have with salad too and
this way we’ll get it used
up the top I’m giving to the
chickens okay so we got those two
beautiful tomatoes
look at that wonderful stuff now the
peppers these will be good
too I’ll get these Peppers cut in
half I’m going to wash
them okay so with with I’m done with
that knife with the
peppers I’m going to cut the top
off cut this
out give that to the chickens and I’m
just going to slice these right in half
look at that you’ll be able to grab it
and dunk it in some ranch keep you
healthy
Mister well look I got you
these will be nice for
you I did it

that I should be able to get them all in
there was Larry upset
they can’t see you
mister that’s cuz you got
it this is all for him oh I got your
burgers and sweet potatoes we got a
burger and a sweet potato in the oven
well the sweet potatoes are done or the
burgers are
done the sweet potatoes got just a
little bit to go I think that’s it I’m
going to put just H I can do these
two these are good when they’re put in
uh little bit of ranch dressing you
know now you can’t gorge on the whole
thing because you’ll have heartburn from
Texas
but you can e a couple of them
there
beautiful we got tomatoes and everything
in
there get this off
here cuz this is going in our
salad actually I like to cut this this
way nice and
thin and I just break this up nice and
thin let me move that down a little bit
there we
go you
have no yes it’s over
there is that
na just put it in the chicken bucket
she’s been eating out of
it just put it right in there there’s
only a little bit left
and there that’s a pretty salad and then
we’ll have our take a look friends
and then we’ll put tomatoes on there
beautiful should I do another I think
I’m going to do another half onion in
here that can go right in the
sink sneak
by I might just put this entire Red
Onion in there cuz it’s really is a
small one

go I got your egg salad in there you’ll
see I’ll show you all I got in just a
minute and this is all the end I’m
putting on here this is going to be a
beautiful salad for
us
wonderful we got celery and
carrots and cucumber just a small
cucumber I didn’t have a whole
lot there’s our salad friends absolutely
gorgeous all
right we’re going to put our lid on
there
and our salad is done okay and we’re
going to put these right here on
it I’m going to put this onion in the
fridge if you’ll want to do
that and then we can put this can go in
the one drawer so can the onion I’m
going to take care of this and we shall
be
back okay friends this is done this is
beautiful this turned out nice and I am
going to have a little bit for dinner
tonight John does not eat
this the only other one in my family
that eats this is my son and he loves
it with bacon and
onions it’s the greatest in the world
I’m telling you a little bit of salt and
a lot of
pepper now when I heat this up
throughout the
week it will finish cooking as I heat it
so but I don’t want too mushy I like you
know I like my fried cabbage with just a
little life left in it I see you behind
me you sweet
K huh I thought it was helping do
something all
right I’m going to take that right up
off the
side cuz I’m not tipping this
pan and we got
it all right friends let’s show you what
all we did
today well there we go friends we have
got this isn’t Mr Wayne is he won’t
touch a cabbage will you or want to try
it no the cabbage is mine for the week I
love it fried up with a little bit of
onions and bacon and I did I put no oil
in it the only grease in it was from the
bacon itself rending
down we’ve got a nice big bowl of
hard-boiled eggs we’ve got a big
beautiful salad we’ve got vegetables
that are all cut and ready to eat to use
we’ve got nuts a little container of
nuts for him we’ve got the beautiful
beef sticks that we bought for him we
got onions for the freezer and with our
excess um eggs we made some beautiful
egg salad like Grandma made and that’s
it friends this is a beautiful way to
stock your fridge for when a d diabetic
wants a snack this will keep them away
from the sugar and I don’t know why it
is
but generally most people I know that
have diabetes they crave sugar well this
will keep them eating healthy well okay
friends so there we have it and he’s
laughing at me take five this is
beautiful this is a good way to stock
the freezer or the refrigerator and keep
him out of the sweets no more peanut
butter and jelly sandwiches in the in
the middle of the night you have all
this to graze on peanut butter
mayonnaise
oh I don’t know how you could eat that I
couldn’t eat that in a
nightmare you all have a wonderful night
