I love to bake our own bread. It’s not only healthy but tastier, too. It does not contain preservatives, saturated fats, or sugar.
Here’s the recipe:
– 600g/ 5 cups – of all-purpose flour
– 7g (1 packet) 2 1/2 tsp – of instant dried yeast
– 350ml/ 1 1/2 cups – of lukewarm water
– 1/2 tsp salt
– Olive oil – 3 to 4 tbsp plus a little for brushing

Knead the dough for 10 minutes, either by hand or using a machine. Halfway through kneading, add 3 tablespoons of olive oil.

After kneading the dough for 10 minutes, shape it into a ball and coat the bowl with olive oil. Set the dough aside, cover it with a lid or cloth, and place it in a warm spot to rise for 1 hour. The dough should double in size during this time. After one hour, divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Each piece should become an individual basic form of bread rolls, ready to rise for another hour and double in size one more time.

Set the tray aside for 1 hour to let the dough rise. When it’s ready to bake, brush the tops with olive oil for a crispier finish. Bake at 180C for 20 minutes. If you wish, you can brush it again right after taking it out of the oven. Here you have it: a simple, healthy bread roll that you made yourself.
