Did you know that Rice is secretly making you fat?
Well….not really:
When rice is heated and then cooled overnight (8 hours) it forms a crystalline structure and rearranges into a more organised state. This is called retrogradation process which increases the amount of resistant starch in the rice.
This reduces the body’s ability to digest it and makes it act as a source of food for the gut bacteria thus reducing sugar spike and increasing the good bacteria in the intestine over time.
This rice wil also act as a pre-biotic and since it is a resistant starch, your body will absorb fewer calories from it, thus, helping with weightloss!
