Quick Toasted Deli Sandwich

​This is a fast and simple recipe for a toasted deli-style sandwich.

​Ingredients:
• ​2 slices of sandwich bread
• ​Olive oil (or butter) for toasting
• ​Mayonnaise or sandwich spread (I used the American Burger Sauce)
• ​Sliced deli meat (turkey or chicken breast)
• Sliced white cabbage
• Himalayan salt
• ​Shredded white cabbage (or coleslaw mix)
• ​Hard cheese shavings for garnish (optional)

​Instructions:
• ​Add a small amount of oil to a non-stick pan over medium heat.

• ​Toast one side of both slices of bread until lightly golden.

• ​Remove the bread from the pan and place one slice, toasted-side down, on a plate.

• ​Spread the mayonnaise/sandwich spread on the untoasted side of both bread slices.

• ​On the bottom slice, layer the deli meat.

• ​Top the meat with a small amount of shredded cabbage.

• ​Add the grated/sliced cheese on top of the cabbage.

• ​Place the second slice of bread on top, toasted-side up, to complete the sandwich.

• ​Return the sandwich to the pan and toast on both sides until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted.

• ​Remove from the pan, slice in half, and serve immediately. Garnish with hard cheese shavings on the plate for extra flavor/visual appeal.
