Here’s a crispy, healthy Air-Fried Fritter (Pakoda) recipe using suji (semolina), boiled banana, and poha — perfect for a quick snack!

Air-Fried Suji–Banana–Poha Fritters (Pakoda)

Ingredients

1 cup poha (thick or medium)

1 large boiled banana (or 2 small) – mashed

½ cup suji (semolina)

1–2 green chillies – finely chopped

1 tbsp ginger – grated

2–3 tbsp onion – finely chopped (optional)

½ tsp jeera

½ tsp red chilli powder

¼ tsp turmeric

Salt to taste

1–2 tbsp oil for brushing

Fresh coriander chopped

Water as needed

Instructions

1. Prepare the Mixture

1. Wash poha and soak for 2 minutes, then squeeze out water.

2. In a bowl, add:

Soaked poha

Mashed boiled banana

Suji

Onion, green chilli, ginger

Jeera, red chilli, turmeric, salt

Curd (optional)

3. Mix well.

4. Add 2–3 tbsp water if needed to form a thick dough.

5. Rest 10 minutes so suji absorbs moisture.

2. Shape the Fritters

Grease your hands lightly.

Shape small tikkis or mini pakodas or as you wish

3. Air Frying

Preheat air fryer to 180°C for 5 minutes.

Brush all fritters with a thin layer of oil.

Arrange in the basket.

Air fry:

180°C for 12–14 minutes, flip halfway

Brush lightly with oil again for extra crispiness.

Cook until golden brown and crispy.

Serving Suggestions

Serve with green chutney, imli chutney, or yogurt dip.

Sprinkle a little chaat masala on top for a street-style finish.
