Ingredients-

For Boiling the Dana
• Fresh Tuvar Dana: 200 gm
• Water: 1/2 cup
• Haldi Powder (Turmeric Powder): 1/2 tsp
• Salt: Per taste
For the Masala Paste
• Fresh Garlic: Small bunch
• Green Chillies: 2-3
• Ginger: Small piece
For the Curry (Shaak)
• Oil: 2 tbs
• Hing (Asafoetida): 1/2 tsp
• Salt: Per taste
• Haldi Powder (Turmeric Powder): 1/2 tsp
• Dhania Powder (Coriander Powder): 1.5 tsp
• Fresh Methi Leaves: 2 cups (finely chopped)
For Binding
• Besan (Gram Flour): 2 tbs
• Oil: 1/2 tsp (for rubbing into besan)

Recipe –
– In a pressure cooker, take 200 gm fresh tuvar dana.
– Into that add, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 tsp Haldi Powder and salt per taste.
– Pressure cook this on medium flame upto 2 whistles.
– To make masala, in a chopper take small bunch of fresh garlic, 2-3 green chillies and a small piece of ginger.
– Chop / Crush them coarsely. Keep it aside.
– Now in a kadhai, add 2 tbs oil, into that add 1/2 tsp hing and prepare garlic-ginger-chili masala
– Then add salt per taste and let masala fry for 2 minutes
– Now add 1/2 tsp Haldi powder and 1.5 tsp Dhania Powder.
– Let masala cook on slow flame for 2 minutes
– Now add 2 cups finely chopped fresh methi leaves.
– Mix it properly and cover sabzee – let methi cook on medium flame (it will take 7-8 minutes).
– Then open the lid and add pre-boiled fresh tuvar dana. Mix well.
– For binding, take 2 tbs besan in a plate, into that 1/2 tsp oil – rub besan so that oil gets mixed properly and then dust this besan into the sabzee.
– Cover it again and let it cook for 5-7 minutes on low flame.
– Open the lid and mix everything well. Tasty and Nutritious Dana Methi nu Shaak is ready.
