Steaming vegetables is one of the healthiest cooking methods, but timing and order matter.
In this video, I show you how to steam mixed vegetables correctly in one steamer without overcooking.

This step-by-step guide helps preserve nutrients, improve digestion, and keep vegetables colorful and delicious.
Perfect for weight loss, clean eating, and mindful living.

Vegetables used:
Beetroot, carrot, zucchini, cauliflower, green peas.

Step 1: Prepare the Vegetables

Wash all vegetables well.
Peel beetroot and carrots.
Cut everything into similar-sized pieces so they cook evenly.

Step 2: Set Up the Steamer

Add water to the pot, making sure the water does not touch the vegetables.
Bring the water to a gentle boil, then reduce to medium heat.

Step 3: Correct steaming (One Steamer Method)

👉 Total steaming time: about 25 minutes

Minute 0 – Add Beetroot
Start with beetroot because it is the hardest vegetable.
Steam for 10 minutes alone.

Minute 10 – Add Carrot
After 10 minutes, add carrots.
Steam beetroot and carrot together for another 7 minutes.

Minute 17 – Add Cauliflower
Now add cauliflower.
Steam everything together for 5 minutes.

Minute 22 – Add Green Peas & Zucchini
Finally, add green peas and zucchini.
These cook very fast.
Steam for 3 minutes only. And then kepp it in iced water for 5 minutes.

👉 Minute 25 – Turn off heat
Vegetables should be tender, colorful, and not overcooked.

How to Check If Vegetables Are Perfectly Steamed

Pierce with a fork or knife.
It should go in easily, but vegetables should still hold their shape.

Important Steaming Tips

Do not add salt while steaming.
Cover the lid tightly to keep steam inside.
Add healthy fats like olive oil or ghee after cooking.
