These crispy banana chips are a simple yet satisfying Navratri snack made with raw bananas, lightly soaked in turmeric water for that subtle colour and earthy flavour, then fried to golden perfection. Seasoned with just salt, they’re clean, comforting, and perfect for fasting days when you want something crunchy without overcomplicating it. Whether you’re nibbling on them with chai or serving them as a quick vrat snack, they bring that familiar, homely warmth that Navratri food is all about.

Ingredients:
• 4 raw bananas
• ½ tsp turmeric powder
• Water (for soaking)
• Salt to taste
• Oil for frying

Method:
• Peel the raw bananas and slice them thinly (use a slicer for even chips).
• In a bowl, mix water with turmeric powder and soak the banana slices for 5–10 minutes.
• Drain and pat the slices dry with a cloth/kitchen towel.
• Heat oil in a kadhai on medium flame.
• Fry the banana slices in batches until they turn crisp and light golden.
• Remove onto tissue paper to drain excess oil.
• Sprinkle salt while still warm and toss well.
• Let them cool completely before serving or storing.
