As part of my (Danna’s) “Kick Cancer’s Butt” journey to recover from Stage One Breast Cancer, I’ve notched up from very good nutrition, to above and beyond nutrient dense power eating! Quality research verifies over and over the powerful effect a variety of nutrients God put into our foods can help us fight disease to include cancer. Not only that…these nutrients are also anti-aging!
So, I’m all about finding time, calorie, and cost-effective ways to boost my nutrition to the MAX. Having my Power Smoothie most days is part of my health regime. It’s nutritious and delicious and so easy to make!
DANNA’S ANTI-CANCER, ANTI-AGING POWER SMOOTHIE RECIPE:
8-12 Ounces unsweetened coconut or almond milk (avoid products with carrageenan)
1/2 to 3/4 Organic frozen mixed berries (naturally lower in fructose than other fruits)
1/2 Frozen banana
1 Scoop whey protein powder (See links to our faves below – look for UN-DENATURED)
1 Scoop green powder (link below)
Handful of greens (spinach, mixed greens, arugula) (Avoid raw Kale)
1 Heaping TB of Organic grass fed collagen peptides
Blend well (15-30 seconds) in a Magic Bullet or blender. Enjoy!
Approximately 300 calories and 19-22 grams of protein
Note: You can add a fat like coconut oil or almond butter for more calories or satiety if desired)
