High protein snack-Brown chickpeas(Sundal Tasty and healthy snack)
As a rich source of vitamins, chickpeas may offer a variety of health benefits, such as improving digestion, aiding weight management and reducing the risk of several diseases. Additionally, chickpeas are high in protein and make an excellent replacement for meat in vegetarian and vegan diet
Ingredients:
Brown chickpeas –200gms
Onion-1
Tomato-1
Red chillies-2 – 3(or green chillies 2 -3)
Curry leaves
Garam masala-1 tsp
Asafoetida
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tbsp
Grated coconut-tbsp
Grated carrot-1
Coriander leaves
Instructions:
1)Soak the brown chickpeas overnight for 8hrs.Once soaked dry the water and rinse it.Place chickpeas in pressure cooker add clear water and pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles until it gets soft.
2)In a fry pan add 1 tbsp of oil.Add mustard seeds.Add chillies and curry leaves.
3)Add onions and fry for 2 minutes &add tomatoes
4)Fry it on low medium flame for 5 minutes add little water.
5)Next add the brown chana
6)Put 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of garam masala(As poer taste)
7)Mix and fry all together for 5 minutes
8)Finally add grated coconut and garnish the recipe with grated carrots and coriander leaves.
Squeeze lemon and serve it.
