Hey guys!
Welcome to my channel DR Chef MD
In this series, I will be making some immune-boosting simple recipes. By Immune boosting, I mean strengthening the immune system in a helpful way.
My first recipe in this series is sprouts salad. I choose it first because of its incredible benefits.
It has high levels of VITAMIN C, which stimulate WBC (white blood cells), thus boosting our immunity. Vitamin C is not stored in our body and requires daily supplementation. Unlike citrus fruits which are acidic, sprouts are an alkalizing food, which helps in better function of the body.
Sprouts are a rich source of vitamin A, which stimulates t cell, a type of immune cell.
Sprouts are a good source of iron and copper and boost blood circulation, by increasing the oxygen-carrying capacity of RBCs.
In veggies I’m using peeper, some onions and tomatoes……….which are again a high source of vitamin C. Red bell pepper contains twice the amount of vitamin C, compared to citrus fruits. They also have Beta carotene, a form of Vitamin A.
Sunflower oil has vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant and helps in boosting our immune system. It also has phosphorous, Magnesium, vitamin B6.
A little asafetida to prevent bowel upset.
