Chickpea Salad/Chaat
With my journey towards Oil free Plant based recipes, Today we are with healthy chickpea salad. A cup of Chickpeas are recommended as source of dietary fibre, reduce inflammation in people and help preventing osteoporosis.Chickpeas are high in protein and are excellent replacement for meat in vegetarian and vegan diets.Raw mango used in the recipe are suggested to consume for action gastrointestinal. In the recipe we are steaming the chickpeas this is one of the most nutritious ways of cooking food, because it allows the boiling water to vaporise into steam, and this steam heats the food without removing its nutrients.Steaming is not only delicious and nutritious, but it’s also incredibly easy.steaming prevents overcooking or burning food and maintains the natural flavour and moisture of your food. Ingredients:
• 1 cup Chickpeas, soaked over night
• 1 cup finely chopped cucumber
• 1 cup finely chopped tomato
• ½ finely chopped red onions
• Green Chili To taste (optional)
• 2 tablespoon raw mango chopped
• 2 tablespoon dates & tamarind dip
• Pinch of salt
• Mint basil leaves to garnish
Serves 2
Time 25 Minutes
Method:
• Steam chickpeas for 25-30 minutes until tender.
• Place chickpeas in a bowl, crush them a bit by pressing them with a spoon, add all the other ingredients and toss well.
• Add dates and tamarind dip and serve.
