Grapefruit isn’t only for breakfast! If you’ve got an extra grapefruit or two on hand and you’d like to make an easy grapefruit salad recipe, today’s video is for you.
This grapefruit avocado salad recipe requires very little actual cooking… it’s more about slicing and making a simple vinaigrette dressing to pour over top.
One key ingredient in this avocado and grapefruit salad is, of course… avocado. After years of being shunned because they didn’t fit with the low-fat craze, avocados have surged in popularity recently. Avocados are nutrient-dense and contain close to 20 different vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. The healthy fat in avocado also helps the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamins A, D, K, and E.
A word of caution about the other star ingredient in this grapefruit and avocado salad recipe – the grapefruit. There are a number of medications that should NOT be taken with grapefruit or grapefruit juice. If you’re taking any prescription medications please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist that it’s safe for you to consume grapefruit.
