The healthy breakfast recipe, Oats Idly, when prepared with the right measure of ingredients, turns out to be smooth and fluffy.
Ingredients used for batter :
1 cup of oats
1/2 cup sooji/rava
1/2 cup of grated carrots (optional)
1 cup of water and more if required
1/4 cup of curd
salt as per taste
For Seasoning:
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp jeera
1 tsp urad dal (optional)
1 tsp channa dal (optional)
1/2 tsp grated ginger
A pinch of hing
Chopped green chillies
Few curry leaves
After the seasoning is done and mixed well with the batter, add a tsp of ENO or 1/2 tsp soda and mix gently. This has to go immediately to the idly plates and then to the steamer. Steam it for 15mins and serve it with chutney or sambar.
