Moong dal Rasam / Peserakattu is a south indian Rasam, this is healthy soup and easy recipe. Pesara pappu charru (pesara kattu) is a tangy, delicious, and slightly watery lentil soup with split moong beans that’s popular in Andhra Pradesh, India.

Easy to cook and easy to digest, moong dal is a great to include in your weekly vegetarian menu. This recipe is an easy pressure-cooker recipe and can be made in minutes.

Ingredients :

Moong dal – 1 /2cup
Water – 1 cup( for cooking dal)
Tomato-1( medium)
Bottle guard-small
Green chilies-4
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp

Procedure :

1.Add Moon dal & Roast it in low pressure till we get nice aroma.
2.Add tomato, bottle guard( optional),green chilies, turmeric powder , water
3.Close & Seal
4.cancel saute mode,Manual/ pressure cook for 3 minutes in high pressure
5.Natural pressure release
6.When done , Open the lid and mash the dal
add uto 3 cups of water
7.Add salt as per taste, coriander powder.

8.Press Saute mode,Boil Rasam for 5minutes
9.After 5 min ,Cancel the Saute Mode.

Tempering/ seasoning :

Ghee – each 1 tbsp
Crushed Garlic clove – 2
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Curry leaves-1 string
Red chilies-2
