Read my best selling book, The Stoic Body:
Intermittent fasting is a very effective method for losing fat. I think everyone knows this.
However, many gurus out there will have you believe that intermittent fasting is better for fat loss because it helps decrease insulin.
Usually this argument is based on the cherry-picked opinion of a few doctors who use weak evidence to make bold claims.
The truth is that intermittent fasting works because it simply makes the process of eating in a calorie deficit more likely.
Eat less frequency = eat less food = more consistent calorie deficit = more fat loss.
There are some other benefits to intermittent fasting like increased BDNF, mitochondrial biogenesis, decreased inflammation, etc… which i’m not denying. However, in this video I’m explicitly speaking about fat loss.
When calories and protein are matched it doesn’t matter whether you eat 46 small meals or 1 big meal, you will get the same results.
Whether you do intermittent fasting or not should be personal preference, not a requirement to get the best results.
