INGREDIENTS
Coconut oil – 1 tbsp
Chopped onions – 1/2 cup
Chopped green chillies – 2 tbsp
Chopped coriander stem – 2 tbsp
Chopped carrots – 1/2 cup
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Red lentils / masoor dal – 1 cup
Thyme – 1 tsp
Oregano – 1 tsp
Black pepper – 1 tsp
Salt – To taste
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Mint – 1 tsp
Water – As required
PROCEDURE
1. Rinse the lentils thoroughly.
2. In a kadai add coconut oil and once it gets hot add the veggies.
3. Add the ginger garlic paste and stir well.
4. Add the red lentils and required amount of water and some salt.
5. Add the herbs and cook for 5 minutes.
6. Add the turmeric powder and chopped mint just before serving.
7. Serve hot and garnish with chopped onion and lemon juice. You can also serve with plain yogurt.
