Here the method of preparation of the Cumin Potato Coconut Milk Rice or Simple Potato Cumin Coconut Milk Rice or Jeera Aloo Nariyal Pulao is given
Preparation
Heat the pan and pour in 10 ml of oil. Put in a spoon of fennel seeds and three spoons of cumin seeds and saute and mix well. Add the pieces of 25 shallots and saute and mix well till the shallots lose their pinkish color. Add 25 gms of ginger and 25 gms of garlic and saute and mix thoroughly . Add the pieces of one tomato and saute well. Add salt to taste and mix well. Add two red chillies and saute and mix well. Add the pieces of one big potato and saute and mix well. Add 50 ml of water and saute until the water evaporates. Repeat again for a period of 10 minutes till the potato is nicely cooked. Alternately if in a pressure cooker add 75 ml of water and cook for 3 minutes in the pressure cooker. Add one and a quarter cup of thin coconut milk and mix well. Add a cup of washed rice and mix well. Let the mixture cook for 5 more minutes in the pressure cooker. Take off the flame and serve
