7 year old Ayman follows a recipe and bakes banana bread with the help of his little sister Jennah, 3.
So much work was involved measuring, counting, cracking, whisking, mixing, folding, pouring and chopping.
The recipe is very easy to follow, it makes a delicious banana bread. Omit the walnuts if you do not like nutty bread!
Use vegan butter and some apple sauce instead of butter and eggs, for a vegan alternative.
350g ripe bananas
180g plain flour
3 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
160g soft light brown sugar
2 eggs beaten ( or 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce as vegan alternative)
4 tbsp melted butter
50g roughly chopped walnuts (optional)
1. Mash bananas
2. Weigh out plain flour, salt and baking powder in a separate bowl
3. Add eggs, butter and sugar to another bowl, mix well
4. Fold all in together
5. Roughly chop walnuts and fold into mixture
6. Cook in preheated oven for 1 hour at 170 degrees.
