Masal pongal is a healthy and tasty recipe.

Ingredients

Rice. – 1 cup
Moong dal – 1/2 cup
Water. – 3 cups

To Temper

Mustard. – 1tsp
Urad dal. – 1 tsp
Red Chilli -1
Curry leaves

Masal

Coconut – 2 tbsp
Garlic – 3 pods
Cumin – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Chilli – 1

Directions:

Add a tbsp of ghee to the pressure cooker and temper with mustard, urad dal, chilli, curry leaves.

Add rice and dal and saute for few seconds.

Add the coarsely ground masal .

Add water and pressure cook to 3 whistles. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
