Traditionally the masala is cooked in oil, which is quite obvious in Indian cooking, but the USP of this curry recipe is that it requires zero oil or fat. Yes, you heard it right. It is a zero oil chana masala recipe with no compromise on taste. All the spices mentioned in the chana masala recipe, contribute towards the flavor & colour of the dish, so I suggest you not to skip any spice.

Ingredients Required:
1&1/2 cup Kabuli Chana (Chickpeas)
2 Green Cardamom (choti elaychi)
2 Black Cardamom (badi elaychi)
2 Bay Leaves (tej patta)
4-5 Cloves (labang)
1 Stick Cinnamon (dalchini)
Salt
2 Tbsp Coriander (dhaniya) seeds
2 Tbsp Pomegranate (anardana) seeds
1 Tbsp Cumin (jeera) seeds
1 Tbsp Fennel seeds (saunf)
1 TSP Asafoetida (hing)
Lemon juice
Kasoori Methi
1 TSP Garam masala
Coriander leaves
