Ingredients for Masala Khichdi
Basmati Rice – 1 cup
Toor Dal – 1/2 cup
Masoor Dal – 1/4 cup
Moong Dal – 1/4 cup
Oil / Ghee – 3 tbsp
Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Dry Red Chilly – 2
Curry Leaves – 10
Ginger – 1 tbsp
Garlic – 1 tbsp
Onion – 2
Asafoetida – 1/2 tsp
Kasuri Methi – 1 tbsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 2 tbsp
Red Chilly Powder – 1 tbsp
Garam Masala – 1 tsp
Tomato – 2
Salt

Method to make Masala Khichdi
1. Soak rice and lentils in water for 1 hour.
2. Cook it in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles.
3. To make masala for the khichdi in a pan add oil and splutter cumin seeds, dry red chili, and curry leaves.
4. Add Onion and saute till it becomes translucent.
5. Add hing and kaurimethi with masala powders and roast.
6. Add Tomato with some water and cook it.
7. Add the cooked rice and dal mix into the masala and mix.
8. If its too thick add some water and boil.
9. Finally add some chopped coriander leaves and half lemon juice.
