Ingredients:
Jowar: 1/2 Cup
Channa Dhal: 1/2 Cup
Ginger: 1 Piece
Dried Red Chillies: 5 Nos
Cumin Seeds: 1/4 Tsp
Salt: 1/2 Tsp
Onion: 1 Nos
Coriander Leaves: Few
Oil: To Fry

Method:
1. Today lets check out how to make Jowar millet fritters or Vellai Sollam vadai. Very healthy snack recipe, you can easily maek your kids go with some millets, so lets quickly check out the ingredients and get started.
2. To a bowl add 1/2 cup of jowar and 1/2 cup of channa dhal. Add sufficient amount of water and wash the millet well. Then drain off the water and again add sufficient amount of water. Close with a lid and let this soak for 4 hours.
3. After 4 hours, drain off the water and ransfer it to a mixer jar, To this add 5 dried red chillies, 1 piece of ginger and 1/4 tsp of cumin seeds . Grind this to a coarse paste.
4. Transfer it to a mixing bowl, to this add 1 onion very finely chopped, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1 green chilli chopped, few coriander leaves and 1/2 tsp of salt. Give all the ingredients a very nice mix.
5. Now its all nicely nixed, grease your hands with oil and pull out a small portion and make a smooth ball out of it. Then give a slight press like this. Shape the edges and keep it ready. Likewise make all the jowar vadas.
6. Heat sufficient amount of oil in an iron pot. When the oil is nice and hot, add the fritters one by one. Make sure not to over crowd. Let this fry for 2 minutes in medium flame. After two minutes, flip to the other. Let this again cook for 2 more minutes. Now both the sides are nice, crispy and golden brown, so lets now remove them.
7. Now our delicious and healthy jowar millet fritters or Vellai Sollam vadai is ready. Serve it nice and hot with a cup of tea and enjoy with your family and friends. Very easy, quick and healthy recipe, so do try this jowar millet recipe at your home and write back to me your feedback.
