A Spaghetti carbonara recipe video, only I made it with high protein ingredients and lower fat so it can fit your macronutrients / calories easier. You can also use high protein pasta such as edamame spaghetti for more protein but I just used normal pasta. Normal carbonara is delicious but filled with so much fat ( cream, cheese, eggs, bacon).. this makes it easier to fit it into a calorie deficit or diet / healthy diet for weight loss. Also the small amount of protein per calorie also isn’t ideal for building muscle and losing weight.. so I swapped the bacon for ham/peas & cream & cheese for low fat cream cheese (you can use low fat mozzarella as well). Its delicious.
You can make it vegetarian or even vegan by using smoked tofu and soy yoghurt.
Ingredients
300g pasta
2 eggs
100g ham
200-300g peas frozen
200-240g low fat cream cheese or low fat mozzarella (can also use fat free yoghurt but it will taste sour)
garlic powder or a few cloves of fresh garlic
salt and pepper
