Welcome to@SpringOnionKitchen! In today’s video, we’re excited to share a nutritious and delicious recipe for Oats Idli, a healthy breakfast option that’s perfect for those on a weight loss journey.

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 6

Ingredients:

1 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp chana dal
1 tsp urad dal
1 tsp green chili, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
1 tsp curry leaves, finely chopped
1/4 cup peas
1/4 cup carrot, finely chopped
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 cup suji
2 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup plain yogurt (curd)
1 cup water
1/2 tsp ENO powder
Oil for greasing

Method:

1. Start by dry roasting 1 cup of rolled oats in a pan until they turn lightly brown and aromatic. Allow them to cool.
2. Grind the roasted oats into a fine powder using a mixer and keep aside.
3. In a separate pan, heat a little oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, urad dal, green chili, ginger, curry leaves. Allow them to splutter.
4. Add finely chopped vegetables of your choice, such as carrots and peas. Sauté them until they are slightly tender. Add turmeric powder and mix well.
5. Add suji and roast for 3 minutes on low flame.
Add prepared oats powder and mix well.
6. Add chopped coriander leaves, salt, curd, and water and mix thoroughly to form a smooth batter. And transfer to a mixing bowl. And rest for 20 minutes.
7. Add ENO powder and mix gently, idli batter is ready.
8. Grease the idli molds with a little oil. Pour the batter into the molds.
9. Steam the idlis in a steamer for about 15 minutes or until they are cooked through.
10. Once done, allow the idlis to cool for a few minutes. Then, remove them from the molds.

Your healthy and delicious Oats Idlis are ready to be served hot with chutney or sambar.
