How To Make My Gut HEALING Green GODDESS Salad
Peace and blessings welcome back to the channel once again where we talk all things health and healing from a holistic perspective and today will be no different today I’m going to give you the recipe for my gut healing Green Goddess salad this is my go-to salad
That I eat most of the time and it’s probably a salad that you definitely need to be eating if not every other day at least three times a week okay now the beautiful thing about this salad it is loaded with a ton of nutrition but just because it’s nutritious does not mean
That it’s not going to be delicious and we need more raw food in our diet raw foods are living foods and so quite often when I’m evaluating somebody’s diet and I’m looking at how much raw food that they’re eating most people are only eating somewhere around 10% of raw
Food and I try to make my diet somewhere around 60 to 70% raw foods with the vast majority of that being fruit but I do love a great salad and this is one of my favorite salads that I’m going to share with you I’m going to break my rules share my secret recipe
With you guys and you’ll know how to make the gut healing green gter salad for yourself now as you can see we got a few other components here that you see in the front there is hemp seeds we got a couple of herbs there as well too we
Got some olives okay we got some bell peppers we got a avocado not your typical avocado we got some key liines got some tomatoes on here as well too so it’s going to be loaded and a salad isn’t a salad without some green leafy vegetables okay and I have three here so
The one you see here is just a regular lettuce okay a regular lettuce this is dandelion leaves you need this one okay and then over here I have kale okay now you you could switch out your green leafy vegetables I typically don’t have kale in my salad I’ll typically have arugula
So it’ll be a lettuce uh a dandelion the dandelion leaves or greens and then I have the arugula but they didn’t have like the arugula it didn’t look healthy when I went to go pick it up from the farmers market today so I I said you
Know I’ll go with Kell but you can switch out the greens okay but typically I’m doing a a leafy a green leafy vegetable like lettuce I’m doing a dandelion greens which I love and I explain why I do dandelion greens and then I typically do arugula but today
We’re going to do kale okay so I’m going to go through some of the ingredients because I think it’s important you know and understand why the ingredients are important and why I add them into the recipe okay and we’ll sort of you know I I’m going to show you a
Surprise I got in the oven at the end so stay tuned because again I try to eat the vast majority of my diet raw foods a lot of fruit a lot of green leafy vegetables smoothies green juices Etc but again I’ll show you even though I eat a lot of
Raw food I know what to do when it comes to cooking food as well too so let’s get into it uh the first thing I like to do is take my green leafy vegetables and put them in the bowl first I typically put the kale
In uh without the stem the stem for a lot of people is very difficult to digest so I just break up my my Kale like this put that in there and kale is a cruciferous vegetables and cruciferous vegetables are very good for the body as
Well too um they good for cancer as well too A lot of times when you seea cancer patients one of the things that they will tell you to consume more of of is cruciferous vegetables and kale is in that category okay so we’re going to
Break up our kale again I try to get it without the stem I know that in many cases the stem is loaded with a lot of nutrition but again with kale you’ll notice for a lot of people they have problems with digesting kale sometimes because it is a little bit rougher than
What we’re used to when it comes to you know our salads okay so I think that’s enough for that one we’re going to get some of this lettuce in there as well looking really fine and healthy again you just need to understand how important it is to incorporate raw foods
And especially greens into your diet let me explain why incorporating greens is so important green leafy vegetables the reason why they are green is because they have chlorophyll okay and when you look at chlorophyll under a microscope chlorophyll is the green stuff so let’s say if I were to make a
Juice with this today all right so let’s say I took you know some some of these greens some cucumber Etc and I was going to you know make a juice and I make that green juice the reason why it is green if we look under the microscope that
Green plant blood that we call chlorophyll is exactly identical to human blood with the exception one thing what is at the the center of the molecule what is at the center of the molecule for greens is magnesium what is at the center of blood is iron and the
Iron is what make makes blood red and the Magnesium is what makes the blood of plants green okay we got to get this plant blood into our system it’s like adding a new fresh paint of blood to our blood system as well too and we get loaded with magnesium because again
That’s at the center of the chlorophyll okay and the reason why magnesium is important because it not only helps with relaxing the body in many ways in nature we call it the chill pill okay because magnesium causes you to relax mentally it causes your digestive system to also
Work better as well too it relaxes the muscles as well too so this not only can help with cramps but it also can help with hypertension as well too so you got to get the greens into your system okay next one we have here is going to be the
Dandelion leaves okay so we’re going to break that off again I like to do things by hand because that’s what I call putting love into your food okay I could have just cut this up I have KN here you know but I like to put love in
My food and I always tell people that you know when you feed yourself something healthy the beautiful thing about it is this I believe that we send subliminal messages to our subconscious that tells us that we love ourselves when we’re preparing something for ourselves that is very
Healthy okay I believe that our heart is here and our arms are an extension of our hearts so when we make our foods with our hands we’re putting the compassion that comes from our heart for ourselves into our food okay so that’s why I love actually making my food using my
Hands and I spent a lot of time in Africa uh going to different countries and I would notice that in many places they would actually use their hands to eat and you know in modern society we think that it is that is uncivilized and unsanitary but it’s actually very
Healthy to eat with your hands as well too okay so that’s a whole another topic and we’ll mix this together but I think it’s a beautiful thing to make your own food with your hands okay and again I’m not using all of this cuz this is a
Pretty big S I’m going to eat all of this today all right so we got our greens we mixed it up pretty good here all right the next thing that I like to put in there is avocado okay avocado is loaded with potassium and this is this particular variety of
Avocado is called a 55 avocado it actually tastes very buttery I can eat this by itself I try to eat an avocado at least every other day Okay and and I love this this is actually my favorite avocado of all avocados the 55 and look how beautiful that looks on
The inside so we’re just going to slice that up and put that in the salad as well too getting these healthy fats in our body you got to get healthy fats in your body the reason why fats are so important is because they’re loaded with fatty acids like Omega-3s
Omega-3s are anti-inflammatory they put out the fires in our body so the fire that is in your joints the fire that is in your lower back the fire that is in your gut you need Omega-3s and most people are deficient in Omega-3s okay but you got to get these fats these
Healthy fats into your diet okay and we definitely going to get some of that in there all right so we got an avocado in there we’re going to put the whole thing in there and again sometimes I just eat a avocado by itself okay and I’m definitely going to
Get all of this in there and that’s what I love about nature nature provides everything okay so we so far we got dendelion Leaf we have lettuce organic lettuce let me address that really quick and we also have some kale and now we’re putting avocado in there and everything you see today is
Organic everything organic so no need to panic so that’s probably another conversation I need to be having with you guys as well too so now that we got for me that’s not enough that’s one avocado but that’s just not enough so I’m going to add another one I love
Avocado it’s loaded with potassium as well too all right and potassium is also good for high blood pressure as a as a matter of fact one of the reasons why most people have high blood pressure and high blood pressure is so prevalent is because of a lack of potassium in the
Diet okay potassium is also part of controlling blood pressure as well too so we’re going to make sure we get all the avocado we need in here all right all right so let me show you how that look so far all right so that’s how we got it
Going on right now I’m going to put this other half of the avocado in there get these healthy fats in here man oils are not the healthy fat okay if you you want to get healthy fats eat your healthy fats don’t drink them or
Fry up your food or none of that kind of stuff you primarily want to get them through actual foods and I primarily get my healthy fats through avocado and nuts and seeds and as you’re going to see today we got a few nuts and seeds in
Here today all right cool so here we go you can see what it looks like so far we need to add some color today all right so I got bell peppers all right as you can see here now let me tell you something cool about bell peppers most
People are more familiar with the green bell pepper now what I will tell you is because bell peppers are on that dir dirty dozen list that you need to buy organic always buy these organic but what I want to sort of explain to you is
I don’t have a green pepper today CU I primarily eat PE bell peppers with color and here’s why there’s nothing different between a green pepper and a red pepper the only difference is is that a red pepper has been on the vine for much longer which means that it’s more
Nutritious so a red pepper is far more nutritious than a green pepper because it’s been on the vine longer the green pepper was picked too early you know again you can eat green peppers no problem still going to get some nutrition with it but the beautiful thing about green peppers is that you’re
Going to get a load a load of vitamin C as a matter of fact the red pepper is by by far the most nutritious and bell peppers actually are loaded with vitamin C they’re actually 100 69% of the RDI that you need for Vitamin C so they’re far more they’re far more
Nutritious and they they have far more vitamin C than an orange this is why like there’s a lot of MTH around food that we need to unlearn okay if you want vitamin C you want to use bell peppers okay when I tell you they Trump oranges
Heavily they Trump them all right so I got my my red pepper and then I got an orange pepper so we’re going to put half of each on the inside okay so we’re going to cut this open take this avocado off give thanks now some people out there have like
A a sensitivity to night shades and bell peppers are a night shade and um but bell peppers again are considered a fruit now if you have a sensitivity to night shades what I highly recommend is absolutely making sure you remove all of the seeds Okay now me I don’t have any problems with
Night shades and I love bell peppers I actually use these let me show you in a second I use the bell pepper as a sort of guacamole stick so I’ll make guacamole which I’m going the the avocado is different you know how you taste something and then it finally hits you
This avocado is different today like you literally could just eat the avocado and be happy which I am what was I saying all right cool so I usually cut up my bell pepper and I’ll use these bell peppers as guacamole sticks I’ll make some chickpea tuna use these as chickpea tuna
Sticks um and I like to do that because again you just what I mean by stick you take this dip it into the avocado and eat a little bit more of the of avocado that I mess my mouth with okay so you could use these as stick instead of using crackers or tortilla
Trips or what have you all right so we’re just going to cut these up a little bit add some flavor and color to your salad that is the key to health it’s diversity you got to get a diversity so you get everything you need and they say on average most people only
Consume 20 different foods most people only consume about 20 different foods so you got to get diversity in and diversity in color diversity in types okay so as you can see here we got green leafy vegetables so far we got the avocado okay now we got got the bell
Peppers as well too all right so we want to get this in there again add some color when you got color you got you got you got what you need that’s how I look at it with when it comes to making sure we’re eating correctly CU a lot of
Times the reason why people are deficient is because they’re eating the same Foods over and over that and all foods aren’t created equal some foods are loaded with potassium some are loaded with magnesium some are loaded with calcium like sesame seeds and we have sesame seeds in this recipe as well
Too I’ll talk about it in just a second but as you can see I have all of this in there and I’m getting all the all of the nutrients and that’s the whole goal of it all all right so look at how that looks so far looking better already looking better
Already and you have to understand this the same way when we look for a partner or a meet and we want to be attracted to it we want to be attracted to our food too all right so want to make sure when our eyes look at it it’s like oh yeah that looks
Good that prepares the tummy it gets the body that actually stimulates digestion before you start eating food which is usually important because if you get your digestion or your digestive enzymes going and once the food shows up you’re already ready all right so we’re going to get
This orange one in there as well cut out that Center piece all right like I said some people are sensitive to night shade some people don’t have a problem with it I don’t have a problem all right so we’re going to cut this one up as well we got green
In there we got yellow green with the avocado we got some red with the bell pepper now we’re going to to add this orange bell pepper in there see how beautiful that makes the salad and notice how with all of this I’m using my hands I’m I’m actually
Putting the love in the food okay that’s a missing ingredient when you eat processed food when you get your food out of the out of the the fast food driveway that’s going to be the missing ingredient no love I’ll tell you when you know any situation where
You’re in love with something let’s say you’re in love with a particular type of food but it doesn’t love you back that’s a toxic relationship all right the next thing is I got olives okay so these are Camala okay so we’re going to get some
Of these olives in there as well too so we got another color purple black whatever you want to call it got a whole another color coming in the game put me in the game coach put me in the game all right so now we got olives we know that olives
Are also healthy as well too these are pitted so no seeds all right so get these olives in there that’s why I’m trying to tell you it’s a good healing Green Goddess salad from Mother Mother Nature all right so we just want to get all these pieces in
There and I’m going tell you I’m cutting all this stuff up but it don’t matter cuz it’s going down the same place but I want it to look nice all right so we got the the olives sprinkle those in there and this salad is looking quite fine already all right
So you what that looks like added some color the next thing is we got tomato so this is the vine ripened tomato all right so we’re going to put those in there as well too more color no problem adding nature in here and I’ll tell you about the salad
Dressing at the end too I know you’re wondering like okay what kind of salad dressing you going to use let me tell you something most people get a great salad and then kill it with the wrong kind of dressing the dressing in most cases if you buy store bought dressing in most
Cases it has sugar in it and the wrong kind of sugar like high fructose corn Ser so I’ll tell you about my salad dressing that I I making use uh today as well too so add that in there as well too again if there’s an ingredient in here I know you guys are
Going to be commenting like I don’t like tomatoes well I can’t eat tomatoes don’t put tomatoes in there no problem all right just going to add one tomato all right and then this is important herbs so this is like a bouquet of herbs in here I have some parsley I have some
Oregano I have some um what is that all right I got some rosemary thyme okay so we’re going to put some herbs in there all right and don’t look just love baby all we need is love all right that’s all the salad needs is love all
Right all it needs is love it ain’t got to be done a particular type of way all right right we’ll cut this up a little bit sometimes it does help to cut the herbs because you can smell the flavors come out of the herbs all
Right so I do I I do like to do it that way you know once you cut herbs you you start to smell those flavors come out and they just come out into the salad as well too so I will cut up some of the
Herbs now the reason why you want to add herbs because some herbs actually remove heavy metals from the body okay not only do they remove heavy Bal heavy metals from the body but they also load the body with a lot of nutrition as well too so I’m going to sprinkle that on
There I’m thankful thankful for nature providing all right next thing we got key lines not lines but key lines okay of course I get my key lines from iHeart fruit box as you know I own a tropical Fruit Farm okay and I try to use as much as I
Can possible that come from the farm itself okay so you want to put the key lime juice on there as well too a little bit more citrus what I love about key limes is they’re loaded with antioxidants minerals and most people don’t know this but Keyes actually
Improve the absorption of iron so a lot of people who have anemia and struggle with anemia and low blood iron sometimes it’s not that you don’t have enough anemia in your diet sometimes you’re just not simply absorbing the iron that you’re actually eating in your diet so
The one thing I do love about key liin get the seed out the one thing I do love about key liines is that that’s one thing that they help with they help with increasing the absorption of iron okay so again sometimes this not that you don’t have enough iron in your diet
It could be simply that you’re not absorbing the iron that is coming in from your diet okay squeeze again see how beautiful that is another seed right and they’re loaded with seeds you can see that there loaded with seeds you we don’t do seedless around here organic so we don’t have to panic
SE is what we need okay that’s beautiful baby that’s beautiful feel like the salad is looking at me like yeah wait I’m waiting for you waiting for you buddy all right cool so next thing we’re going to put in there hemp seeds Okay hemp seeds these are organic shelled hemp seeds hemp
Seeds I really love why because hemp seeds are rich in protein they’re 25% protein they’re rich in fiber they’re also healthy uh they have a lot of healthy fatty acids that I talked about earlier so getting those Omega-3s and they’re high in arginine okay Arginine in the body gets converted into nitric
Oxide okay nitric oxide nitric oxide dilates the blood vessels to improve blood flow and lower blood pressure and for my fellas out there Arginine increasing nitrous oxide is good for the bedroom okay so as you know when men struggle in the bedroom with Ed or erectile dysfunction one of the things that helps
Is to in increase blood flow in the area because it’s a blood flow issue all right so hemp seeds baby sprinkle them on there and I do at least two to three uh tablespoons cuz you get about 11 g of protein all right so we’re going to
Sprinkle sprinkle that on there man this is beautiful you going to think me and come back and comment how much you love the salad all right the next thing is final all right this is the salad dressing that I made in this salad dressing I have avocado oil okay also
Some toasted sesame seeds all right also Ginger coconut aminos is loaded I mean I put some herbs in there as well too we’re going to stir this up because it’s a oilbased salad dressing and the beautiful thing is I don’t have to worry about all that sugar
That they put in the salad dressing next time you’re out buying salad dressing for your salads I want I want you to look on the label and look how much sugar that they put in salad dressings it’s crazy okay so we mix that up as much as possible we’re going to pour
That over the salad okay it’s a pretty big salad so that’s more than enough that’s your shot of dressing all right and that’s everything let me show you what we got here look how beautiful that is look how beautiful that I can’t wait to eat this loaded with everything you eat listen the
Dandelion greens in here the dandelion greens I forgot to mention they’re diuretic all right help you get rid of excess fluid so if you’re swollen help you get rid of EX excess fluid lowers your blood pressure what’s the number one medication they put people on when they have high blood pressure diuretic
