Our first salad features a vibrant Cilantro Cumin Dressing, while the second boasts a refreshing Mint Madness Dressing. Both dressings are homemade and elevate the salads to a whole new level of flavor.

Salad 1: Salad with Cilantro Cumin Dressing
This salad is a delightful mix of lettuce, salad greens, shredded carrots, chopped tomatoes, thinly sliced onions, and boiled yellow peas, also known as chotpotir dal or motor dal. The Cilantro Cumin Dressing, made with easily available household ingredients, adds a zesty kick that makes this salad irresistibly delicious. It’s hard to believe something so tasty can be a salad!

Salad 2: Salad with Mint Madness Dressing
Our second salad is equally mouthwatering, with a base of salad greens, lettuce, shredded carrots, thinly sliced onions. We’ve added sliced Granny Smith apple for a sweet and tangy contrast. The Mint Madness Dressing, with its blend of fresh mint, Dijon mustard, and honey, brings a burst of freshness to the salad. If you don’t have Dijon mustard handy, feel free to skip it. The salad will still be incredibly flavorful.

We’ve carefully chosen ingredients that are easily available in most households, ensuring that these salads are not only healthy but also convenient to prepare. Whether you’re looking for a light lunch or a nutritious side dish, these salads are a perfect choice.

Salad 1: Salad with Cilantro Cumin Dressing

Dressing Ingredients:

1½ tbsp onion, roughly chopped
2 small cloves garlic
1 tsp cumin
½ tsp pepper
½ tsp salt
½ green chili (optional)
Juice of 1 lime
1 tbsp white vinegar + 2 tbsp water
1 tsp hot sauce
1 cup packed coriander (cilantro)
½ cup olive oil or neutral oil
¼ tsp sugar or honey
Salad Ingredients:

2 cups lettuce
1 cup salad greens
½ cup carrot, shredded
1 large tomato, chopped
3 tbsp onion, thinly sliced
1 cup boiled yellow peas (chotpotir dal or motor dal)
2 tbsp chopped coriander
Instructions:

For the dressing, blend all the dressing ingredients together until smooth.
In a large bowl, combine the salad ingredients.
Pour the cilantro cumin dressing over the salad and mix well.
Serve and enjoy!
Salad 2: Salad with Mint Madness Dressing

Dressing Ingredients:

¼ cup mint leaves
1 clove garlic
1 tsp Dijon mustard
½ tsp pepper
¼ tsp salt
1 tbsp honey or sugar
1 tbsp white vinegar
Zest and juice of 1 lime
½ cup extra virgin olive oil or neutral oil
2 tbsp water
Salad Ingredients:

Use the same ingredients as Salad 1, except for the tomato and yellow peas
Add 1 Granny Smith apple, sliced
A few mint leaves for garnish
Instructions:

For the dressing, blend all the dressing ingredients together until smooth.
In a large bowl, combine the salad ingredients, excluding the tomato and yellow peas from Salad 1 and adding the sliced Granny Smith apple.
Pour the mint madness dressing over the salad and mix well.
Garnish with a few mint leaves.
Serve and enjoy!
