Traditional Pancake Recipe | Healthy Breakfast | Ottappam Recipe #food #breakfast #healthyfood

Here’s how to make the best Ottappam! Have you heard of this easy-to-make and super delicious dish? 😍 Ottappam is a traditional south indian breakfast which is so similar to pancakes. It’s usually made in a special clay pan and it can be made in a non-stick pan too. I love having it soaked in freshly made coconut milk and jaggery syrup and trust me, its heavenly!!

Ingredients:
1 large egg
1½ cup of all purpose flour
Salt to taste

Recipe:
1. Add the egg, flour and salt into a bowl and mix well with 1/2 cup water. Add one more 1/2 cup of water and keep mixing until it becomes a smooth batter (the consistency should be as shown in the video)
2. Heat the clay pan and pour a ladle of the batter in the center of the pan.
3. Cook uncovered until the holes form on the top and the holes are visible, cover it and cook for 1-2 minutes.
4. Take it from the pan and assemble on a plate. Pour coconut milk and sweetener of choice (Sugar, honey maple or agave syrup works well but jaggery syrup is my fav) generously and enjoyy!!
