Baked Bakarwadi | Healthy Snack Recipe | Indian Snack Recipe | JOOS Food
Bhakarwadi is a popular snack of Maharashtra and Gujrat. Made from gram and wheat flour the snack serves as a healthy substitute to munch on. As it is baked and not fried, the healthy quotient is doubled! The snack goes well with any sort of beverage! So, try this recipe for your next party!

Roasted Makhana Recipe

Ingredients
Upper Dough layer
4 cups besan
1 1/2 cup wheat flour + 2 tbsp. for dusting
1 tbsp red chilli powder
3/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp oil
filling
1/2 cup daria dal
2 tbsp sesame seeds roasted
2 tbsp kus kus roasted
4 tbsp desiccated coconut roasted
2 tbsp peanuts roasted
1 tbsp fennel seeds
1 tbsp garam masala
2 tbsp red chilli powder
1 tbsp cumin powder
1 tbsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
salt to taste
4 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp oil
4 tbsp thick tamarind chutney
1 tsp amchoor powder
Other ingredients
3 tsp oil
Method
Dough
Combine besan, wheat flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, oil, water and make a firm dough.
Keep it covered for 20-25 minutes or until you see white spots on the surface of dough.
Meanwhile preheat oven at 180 degrees.
In a grinder jar add daria dal, sesame seeds, kus kus, coconut, peanuts, fennel seeds, garam masala, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, salt, sugar, amchoor powder and grind.
Transfer the mixture into a bowl and add tamarind chutney and oil to it. Mix well.
Divide the dough into equal portions and roll out into a thin chapatti.
Spread very little tamarind chutney and filling over each chapatti, and gently press with the spoon.
Do not spread it all the way to the edge and do not over stuff either.
Tightly roll the chapatti into cylinder shape, making sure stuffing doesn’t falls out.
Cut into bite size pieces.
Take little oil and grease baking tray.
Place bhakarwadi pieces onto greased baking tray.
Now brush oil on top of the placed bhakarwadi and bake about for 15 minutes at 230 degrees and then bake for 20 – 25 minutes at 180 degree.
Make sure that the bhakarwadi are crispy
Let it cool completely at room temperature.
Serve or store in an airtight container.
