Coleslaw Salad with Creamy Mustard-Oregano Dressing & Onion Twist
A crunchy and creamy coleslaw with a bold, flavourful dressing and a touch of onion magic – a perfect side or a refreshing snack bowl!
Ingredients
2 cups shredded green cabbage
1 cup shredded red cabbage (optional)
1 cup chopped or grated carrots
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion or 1 teaspoon onion paste
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon mustard paste
½ teaspoon oregano
Juice of ½ lemon
1 teaspoon vinegar (white or apple cider)
Salt to taste
Instructions
Mix veggies: In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded green and red cabbage, carrots, and onion (or onion paste).
Add dressing ingredients directly: Add mayonnaise, mustard paste, oregano, lemon juice, vinegar, and salt into the same bowl.
Toss it all together: Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly coated with the dressing.
Adjust seasoning: Taste and tweak salt, lemon, or mustard if needed.
Chill & serve: For best flavor, refrigerate for 15–30 minutes before serving.
Pro Tip: If using raw chopped onion and you want a milder flavor, soak it in cold water for 5 minutes before adding.
